Writing’s on the wall for vandalism

hoard-it has teamed up with a London property company to stamp out graffiti and vandalism during the major transformation of the famous Portobello Road Market.

Working in partnership with Barwin Property Services, hoard-it has produced a hard-wearing perimeter hoarding system to replace the original temporary plywood measure that had become graffiti ridden and damaged by vandals.

The new hoard-it system has been specially designed to withstand acts of vandalism. The pre-printed and branded boards have a coating that not only makes them graffiti proof but means they don’t fade over time either. It means the developers can keep the panels in place for months on end while the messages and branding continue to look as good as new.

hoard-it, which has already worked with major contractors and developers on a range of high profile and original projects nationally, teamed up with Barwin to put in place a system that was not only practical but informative too.

The completed panels raise awareness of the work taking place and promote site developments to the public. The hoardings are also able to be easily repositioned when needed.

Eddy Archer, General Manager at hoard-it, said: “We were able to work with our clients to offer a solution that met their needs. The system is branded, practical and graffiti proof and, as our system is seated directly onto the ground, it can be easily removed and taken away at the end of the project without evidence of it ever being there.”
